Goals of the Project:
Create a cohesive family of form to convey an era of design as well as having a common piece across all forms

My snippet of the entirety of Art Deco is within the early 1930s and the monarchial sculptures that came from romanticizing the Ancient Greek and Roman Architecture.

Branching from Ancient Greek influence and and stair-stepped architecture, a lot of dramatic tapers and scallops appear in the forms
Direction Development
Concepts are further developed into families to understand how the pieces will interact with each other, moving towards renderings, the final direction is being developed alongside possible common bases.

Practicality and Final Direction Decision
The practicality of material usage is conceptualized and family of form is chosen. Molds are made of Oomoo rubber and casted with liquid plastic.
Final Product
Physical prototypes of each chess piece to express the family of acrylic headdresses and resin cast common pieces
